Injection drying – most effective way to dry

Usually newer build properties and extensions with concrete floors can prove to be difficult to dry due to their designs compared to older properties. You’ll find in newer builds there is plastic and insulation underneath which traps in moisture which can lead to problems further down the line if not dried correctly.

In this property in Uxbridge we were quick to assess the property. Given the year it was made and air bricks being visible on the outside of the property we were aware that there was insulation under the concrete and a pressure drying system would need to be used.

Today we drilled into the concrete floor, drilling enough holes for the pipes from the dehumidifier to be inserted into the floor. We then drilled several other holes to act as exhausts for the moisture.

We used specialist thermal imaging cameras and pipe detection equipment to avoid hitting any pipes and safely drill, this property now has the injection drying system fully installed and we will be monitoring it every few days to see how it’s responding.
